My Xeon utilization is only 50% per proc while compressing in Quicktime Pro. Even during an HD export (http://www.macpro.ws/P3.jpg) the fans don't get use.I am compressing EyeTV Broadcast HD recordings with Toast then Handbrake. On the G5 Quad they each use more than two cores occasionally and almost two cores all the time - well over 80% each all the time.
I can crush two files simultaneously to gain even more performance - like 150% faster that way.

I used to have a laptop as a single computer at my home. It resembled a Christmas tree pretty much - it had an USB optical mouse, a printer, external speakers, a Yamaha keyboard, card reader and power cord plugged in. I was always plugging and unplugging cables whenever I wanted to move it to another place. Thank goodness I did not come to the idea to attach an external monitor to it.
USB keyboard + mouse? Was this from the 90s??? Bluetooth keyboards/mice and WiFi printers are how most people do it nowadays. Apples monitors even have a laptop power cord, speakers and a USB hub built in, so it's 3 cables max to attach. If it takes more than 5 literal seconds to connect/disconnect when you move, you're doing it wrong. And with their patents for doing eveything over one cable, looks like the futures only going to get easier.

I never said my actions were morally right. I'll admit that my actions are probably very immoral, and ethically wrong. The simple fact is I don't care about how people view my morality or ethics. I have the 60GB old 5gb ipod and i updated it to version 1.2 see my previous post on how to do if anyone hasn't figured it out yet. I get the scrolling letter thing. Mine does play games now. Bought Mahjong and played it a few times. It does have a load time to play the game which sucks, I already have to deal with that on my PSP. Once loaded, game plays well and smoothly. do not have the fast search feature under music menu. that would have been nice to have. why give us one and not the other? happy about the support for larger video size. But will probably stick to buying DVD's and using handbrake. ITV would change that if you can download directly to it and sync it with ipod using tv to complete these steps.

Fail. It says I can withdraw by turning off location services. It still collects even though location services are turned off. Try again Applogist.
All I've seen is one paragraph claiming that. Until someone shows data from when location services was turned off it's hard to run with it.

Do you realize that Mail uses 100% of a core ALL THE TIME? If I leave it open I only have 3 cores to work with. I mean it's rediculous. I have to QUIT Mail to do my work. Absurd.

strange, I'm currently in Las Vegas according to this app, I've never been to LV in my life. It does however accurately give a tracking of my phone at home in the UK and my trip to East Coast of USA last year.

Maybe you can say that with OS X and and even Windows, but IOS is different in that the user can't run anything that isn't built in or doesn't come from the app store. That's what Android fans call "closed" or a "walled garden." It makes IOS even more secure than the Mac OS.
Like I said before, there is no reason to think that targeting IOS will be even half as successful as the dramatically unsuccessful attacks on OS X over the last decade, no matter what Antivirus vendors would like you to think.

I was thinkin of buying a C2D MBP 17" + 23" ACD, but no i've been thinking of going for a 24" iMac and later for the cheapest Macbook. It will be still some time thought, this G5 iMac is still running good for me. Maybe when Leopard is released.

Oh hell no. Apple are never going to release the Nike kit for HDD-based iPods. That would constitute an admission that running with the iPod is a normal activity and that any damage to the HDD from jolts and shock would need to be covered by Apple Care, ie A VERY BAD IDEA.
